Chick-Fil-A is known for its top-quality customer service, and for one brave employee, this service went above and beyond taking orders for America’s favorite fast-food chicken.
On Wednesday, 43-year-old William Branch allegedly attempted to carjack a mother holding a baby in the parking lot of a Chick-Fil-A in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The mother screamed as Branch grabbed her keys and attempted to enter her vehicle.
One Chick-Fil-A employee, Mykel Gordon, saw the incident and took action. Gordon rushed to the vehicle and tackled the man to prevent him from taking the woman’s car. According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Branch punched Gordon in the face during a scuffle. However, Gordon was able to bring Branch into a headlock until authorities arrived.
Branch is currently charged with carjacking with a weapon and battery.
Reporter Olivia Iverson said the Chick-Fil-A location identified the young man who fought the carjacker and praised him.
