CNN host Chris Cuomo is taking considerable heat for ignoring the nursing home scandal affecting his brother’s administration in New York state.
The host completely ignored his brother’s situation in New York, while CNN hosts Jake Tapper and Erin Burnett did cover it.
On the eve of the report’s release, ‘news’ host Chris Cuomo devoted his whole show to the impeachment vote.
Several twitter users mocked him online, while Jake Tapper addressed the issue in tweets over the weekend. Tapper tweeted on Friday, February 12, at 5:31, “The situation keeps getting worse for Andrew Cuomo on Covid-19.”
What happened:
- The Cuomo administration in New York has been under fire since finally releasing the full list of COVID-19 deaths related to nursing homes, after pressure started building on the Governor to release it.
- Investigations from New York Attorney General Loretta James’ office and the New York Post forced the Governor into transparency.
- 12,473 nursing home residents died because of Cuomo’s directive for nursing homes to accept Coronavirus-positive patients.
