Friday, the official Facebook and Instagram accounts of the Pima County Democrats posted a flier for the Tuscon Women’s March that reads, “F*** the Fourth.”
The Pima County Democrats’ post, shared just days before Independence Day, promotes the Women’s March by saying, “July 4th. We are not celebrating until we get our independence back.”
Here is the party’s Facebook post, which is now deleted on both platforms:

The party then posted a follow-up on Facebook, apologizing for the post, yet reiterating its full support for the very organization that created the graphic:
PCDP posted a graphic advertising a women’s march which, we agree, was in poor taste. We were eager to share the event, and in our haste we used the graphic provided by the event organizer. That was a mistake, and we will do better.
Make no mistake, however. We support the event which will be on July 4 at 7 pm at Reid Park. The event was organized to help women in our community grieve for the loss of their bodily autonomy, which we consider an elemental right.
Our posting of the graphic upset some people. We urge you to save your outrage for the women in this state who will die of botched abortions. Arizona is not a good place to be a woman right now.

Some commenters on the apology post said they weren’t upset with the rhetoric at all, a very telling sign of where the Democratic Party’s base is moving.

Could care less about a woman’s bodily autonomy, how bout the babies right to live a healthy life??? It’s constitutionally guaranteed! Fuck off evil bitches!
Shows real class💩
We really could care less if a Democrat would not celebrate the 4th of July. They have showed us over the years how much they hate our country. The only thing they want is power to rule and tear down our Republic. Please, please if you do not like our United States. Please leave immediately or as soon as you can. We won’t miss you.
