Former VP Joe Biden told a Vice News panel on minority issues that “I don’t count drunk driving as a felony.”
Biden’s comments came in response to a question about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The hosts asked “what exact changes would you bring to ICE as an agency?”
He responded, “You change the culture by saying you are going to get fired. You are fired if, in fact, you do that. You only arrest for the purpose of dealing with a felony that’s committed, and I don’t count drunk driving as a felony,”
The Vice News hosts seemed visibly shocked by Biden’s statement, unsure of how to respond.
Biden’s comments were captured from a Vice live stream at the 2020 Iowa Brown & Black Democratic Presidential Forum.
The video was brought back into the public discussion by the Daily Wire.
