Boulder, Colorado: Ahmad Al-Issa, a Syrian immigrant with a reported history of run-ins with police, has been charged with multiple counts of murder in connection with the shooting deaths of ten victims at a supermarket.
The victims have been identified, and include one police officer.
Although the motive for the shooting has not been officially determined, multiple sources have reported that the suspect posted anti-Trump rhetoric on his personal Facebook page, as well as material possibly related to radical Islam.
This massacre emphasizes the need to secure the U.S. border to prevent the entry of potentially dangerous individuals.
Anti-gun groups, politicians, and publications have begun to focus in on the type of weapon used in the attack. There is no evidence at this point that the weapon had any capabilities beyond that of a hunting rifle, or that banning a specific type of firearm would have prevented the tragedy.
