Diamond Puentes, a pre-med student at Upstate New York’s Union College, was booted off campus for opting not to get a vaccine booster after suffering severe adverse effects caused by her first dose.
Despite Puentes’ doctor sending a note documenting her past adverse vaccine reaction, the school refused the student’s appeal.
Local CBS6 reported on the school’s decision to bar Puentes
She sent CBS6 a copy of a letter written April 11th from her doctor. He writes “it is in my opinion that Ms. Puentes be granted an exception from receiving the booster COVID vaccine. She currently is in an unfavorable state of health, presumably caused by the vaccine itself and getting this vaccine is ill advised.”
Puentes said she became sick after receiving her second COVID vaccine in September.
I got so sick that I ended up in the emergency room,” wrote Puentes in a letter to the college.
She fears that getting the booster will cause her to be sick again. She said that she was unenrolled from her classes and forced to leave her on-campus housing.
