Biden administration officials are reportedly pressuring the FBI to find crimes bolstering President Joe Biden’s claims that “white supremacy” and the GOP are more of a threat to the United States than foreign terrorists.
Former and current FBI members told the Washington Times that the Biden administration has been pushing the bureau to focus more on domestic terrorism and “find a crime” that fits the narrative. But one active agent said that the administration’s demand for white supremacy far outpaces the supply.
“The FBI’s leadership demand for white supremacy vastly outstrips the supply of white supremacy,” the agent told the Washington Times.
Daily Wire reports:
The FBI brass has directed the bureau’s investigative efforts primarily toward domestic extremism cases, especially those with racial components, the agent said. The agent suggested that the push is so forceful that otherwise legal activities are sometimes swept up in the FBI’s scrutiny of certain actions for a potential extremist link.
“We are sort of the lapdogs as the actual agents doing these sorts of investigations, trying to find a crime to fit otherwise First Amendment-protected activities … If they have a Gadsden flag and they own guns and they are mean at school board meetings, that’s probably a domestic terrorist.”
The FBI denied picking targets based on any other determination than dangerous or criminal activity.
“The FBI aggressively investigates threats posed by domestic violent extremists,” an FBI spokesperson told the Times. “We do not investigate ideology, and we do not investigate particular cases based on the political views of the individuals involved. The FBI will continue to pursue threats or acts of violence, regardless of the underlying motivation or sociopolitical goal.”
The Biden administration has turned up the rhetoric as the midterms approach, devoting several speeches to ripping conservatives, including this weekend during remarks at the “United We Stand” rally at the White House. The President hosted the event to address a rise in so-called “hate crimes” across the United States.
“White Supremacy will not have the last word, and this venom and violence cannot be the story of our time,” Biden said yesterday at the White House.
Biden has slammed “extreme MAGA Republicans” several times in speeches this year, specifically in a primetime speech on September 1st, in which he said that conservatives are a threat to the republic.
“There is no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, intimidated by Donald Trump, and the MAGA Republicans, and that is a threat to the country,” Biden said in his speech, which was heavily criticized for tone and appearance.
Congressman Jim Jordan hit the FBI for its witch hunt:
“From recent protected disclosure, we have learned that FBI officials are pressuring agents to reclassify cases as ‘domestic violent extremism,” Jordan said earlier this week regarding the FBI and domestic terrorism.
“Given the narrative that the pushed by the Biden administration that domestic violent extremism is the greatest threat facing our country, the revelation that the FBI may be artificially padding domestic extremism terrorism data is scandalous,” Jordan added in a letter to FBI director Christopher Wray.
