Going against the advice of Dr. Anthony Fauci and his own CDC, President Joe Biden took his first trip on Air Force one Friday from Washington D.C, traveling down to Delaware to attend a watch party Sunday with his family, and watch Super Bowl LV.
“It was a great honor,” Biden told reporters who took the plane trip with him down to Delaware. The President is spending the weekend with his family at their home in Wilmington, Delaware, going against CDC guidelines, and the warnings of Dr. Fauci.
Fauci made comments earlier this week that people shouldn’t be attending Super Bowl parties in close quarters.
Biden and his press Secretary Jen Psaki avoided a question from a reporter asking if they were setting the right example by traveling and attending a Party against CDC guidelines.
“Delaware is his home, and so he looks forward to spending the weekend there, and some time there with his family,” Psaki says, meandering around the question.
Observers noted several changes to Air Force One, including the removal of President Trump’s memorabilia along with the TV channels being switched from the Fox News channel to MSNBC, and the candy M&M’s that the Trump team once gave to reporters are now missing.
Ignoring the questions and trying to justify it, Psaki continued, saying “The key is ensuring that people don’t take steps to make others feel vulnerable in our efforts to get the pandemic under control. As you know any president, Democrat or Republican obviously takes Air Force One, a private plane when they travel.”
