Democrat Representative Judy Chu from California was appointed to a leadership position in 2019 for a Chinese Communist Party front group that has ties to Chinese Intelligence, according to a bombshell report released by the Daily Caller News Foundation Monday.
Rep. Chu was given the title of “Honorary Chairwoman” for the “Forums For Peaceful Reunification of China” during a ceremony in August 2019 after she became the first Chinese American to be elected to the House of Representatives.
The Forum for Peaceful Reunification of China has been identified by the U.S-China Economic and Security Review Commission as an organization with close ties to Chinese intelligence.
According to the Daily Caller News Foundation, the organization works “to gain intelligence networks and foreign intelligence networks with an emphasis on Taiwan.”
American politicians, including several House Members and then-Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, visited Taiwan in the summer of 2022 in a show of solidarity with the nation.

According to the Daily Wire, Representative Chu said at the August 2019 event when she was made Chairwomen “that she hoped for China and Taiwan to become one family.”
The Forum’s stance – along with Rep. Chu’s, apparently – is against Taiwanese Independence, which is under constant threat from China.
Taiwan has been an independent self-governing autonomous nation since October 1945.
