Monday, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci recommended that Americans should start wearing two masks.
According to Dr. Fauci, “If you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective.”
Why it’s news:
Many politicians and companies have taken Dr. Fauci’s words as law before, so businesses could potentially require multiple face coverings before entering.
- Moreover, Fauci’s ridiculous statement will influence the American public’s perception of masks.
- Less than a year ago, Fauci said on 60 Minutes that wearing masks might make people feel better and safer, but they do not do much at all in terms of prevention.
