The trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin is coming to a close this week, and riots continue to rage across the country. In Minneapolis, Minnesota, where George Floyd died in a confrontation with police last May, things are especially bad.
Politicians and corporations have failed to decry the damaging rioting and looting seen in American streets, emboldening offenders. Most, however, have steered clear of fully endorsing destructive riots.
Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA), infamous for her rousing speeches to crowds at protests, was back at it again this weekend, urging rioters to “get more confrontational.”
The Congresswoman also suggested she ‘loves’ Rashida Tlaib for her radical views on policing:
It wasn't an accident. Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist.

Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government funded murder.
No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can't be reformed.
Today in Minneapolis, two National Guard troops were shot at in their vehicles. The troops were both lucky to escape largely unscathed, but they were injured by shattered glass after the drive-by.
