All 2.1 million regular ballots have been recounted in the Maricopa County, AZ election audit.

The number of remaining ballots is unknown; however, they include Braille, large-type, overseas military, and duplicated copies. Arizona’s most populous county is Maricopa, which encompasses Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe. After claims of election fraud in the 2020 elections, lawmakers in battleground states requested audits. Senate President Karen Fann ordered the Arizona audit for both the 2020 Presidential and US Senate races.

The GOP-led Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has denied claims of election misconduct since November. Despite this, Senate Republicans subpoenaed the county’s ballots, voting machines, and election data. A judge ruled the state’s Republicans had the authority to examine the resources. Legal consultants were hired by Fann to organize and monitor the audit.

Former Secretary of State Ken Bennett is leading the audit alongside legal experts. In regard to rumors concerning missing ballots, Bennett said, “Anyone who says there’s 200,000 short is guessing … Randy [Pullen] says that’s crazy, I say it’s not a finding we’ve made yet.”

Other battleground states, including Pennslyvania, have sought to organize audits in response to claims of election fraud.
