Remember when Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called Obama administration border facilities used during the Trump administration ‘concentration camps’? Or when the Congresswoman staged a photo shoot in a parking lot, pretending to be crying at ‘children in cages’?
The very same AOC, who spent the last four years screaming that the facilities and the border policies are the problems, has decided these factors are no longer relevant.
Last night, the self-proclaimed socialist went live on Instagram to blame “the climate crisis,” “imperialism,” “carceral system,” and “trade” for an increase of migrant children at the border.
Her main argument was that the U.S. contributed emissions “causing a planetary climate crisis” that impact “the global south,” including “South Asia” and “Latin America,” creating a “migration crisis.”
The Congresswoman also claimed that the word ‘surge’ being used to describe an increase in migration is “a problem” because it invokes a “militaristic frame” that came from “a white supremacy idea.”
