How do you know a Democrat is lying? His lips are moving. Democrats are not only conducting a witch hunt against Donald Trump but against his supporters (with the Jan. 6 prisoners being a sobering example). Now the Democrats are going after Trump’s alternate 2020 slate of electors from several states, states where evidence of voter fraud caused Trump to say he won their electors. But what Democrats don’t want you to know is that they have previously used an alternate slate of electors in a presidential election. Talk about rank hypocrisy.
As of July 18, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel charged 16 alternate Michigan Trump electors from the totally fraudulent 2020 election (including fraud specifically in Michigan) with felonies. “The slate of would-be electors, Nessel contends, submitted false certificates claiming that then-President Donald Trump won the state and they were the legitimate electors,” according to Just the News. Alternate electors in Arizona and Georgia could face the same charges, according to Steve Bannon’s War Room on July 19. As I explained on my Substack, this is just another step in what seems to be a Biden administration effort to criminalize support for Donald Trump and prep for 2024 election fraud.
But there’s another aspect here that I haven’t seen much discussed, possibly because the story is relatively new. Democrats have themselves provided alternate electors before, during one election where they employed fraud (and almost certainly won by that fraud). The dirty secret the Democrats don’t want you to know is that they are willing to use alternate electors when they object to an election’s results. They are attacking Trump’s alternate electors only because the 2020 election was rife with fraud and the 2024 election will have to employ fraud too if any Democrat is to carry the presidency in the current disastrous state of the country under Biden. This is political persecution of the most hypocritical, pure and simple.
Let’s look at the 1960 election, after which John F. Kennedy was declared the victor despite evidence of voter fraud (which Republican Richard Nixon refused to contest). From the Honolulu Star-Bulletin:
“The 1960 race here in the islands — the first election Hawaii faced as a state — made Electoral College history when Hawaii elected one president, then reversed itself during a bitter recount, forcing two different sets of electoral delegates to cast votes.
In 1960, the Electoral College consisted of 537 members, of which Hawaii had three. The majority to win was 269 votes.
The initial results of the Nov. 8 election that year showed Vice President Richard Nixon 141 votes ahead of Sen. John Kennedy in Hawaii, and so the new state’s three electoral votes were officially cast with Nixon. The recount was completed by Christmas and showed Kennedy carrying Hawaii by 115 votes. The Circuit Court ruled that Hawaii’s three electoral votes should go to the Democrats.”
Whether or not Kennedy cheated in Hawaii, there is solid evidence that the Daley Democrat machine stole Illinois through voter fraud for John Kennedy. Indeed, evidence indicates that both Illinois and Texas went to Kennedy through voter fraud. Research by an investigative journalist argued that the mafia (organized crime) assisted JFK on his dishonest way to victory. So in 1960, there was a Democrat presidential candidate who “won” the election through cheating, who would not accept the vote tallies that were against him, and who utilized alternate electors in at least one state. Meanwhile, Trump had alternate electors in 2020 as a result of his opponents’ fraud, and somehow these electors are dangerous criminals.
Furthermore, in 2016, though the Democrats didn’t provide alternate electors, they tried to pressure the electors to vote for Hillary Clinton instead of Donald Trump, even though Trump rightfully won the Electoral College. Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT), more than 50 electors, and multiple Hollywood celebrities were among those who tried to pressure electors into switching the results of the 2016 election to overturn Trump’s win and put Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office.
Unfortunately, of course, the Democrats have always been dishonest and ruthless. When a Democrat loses an election, the party frames it as a high moral obligation to call the elections fraudulent or illegitimate; high-profile cases include Republican Abraham Lincoln’s 1860 election that sparked the secession of multiple states, and Republican George W. Bush’s 2000 win against Democrat Al Gore. As I have previously written for Rogue Review in a piece on the Democrats’ long history of cheating and lying to “win” elections: “‘Between 1865 and 1900, there were 262 disputed House elections…The 1880 election that produced the 47th Congress of 1881-83 gave rise to 19 cases of alleged election fraud.’” From, you guessed it, the Democrats.
And yet when Democrats “win,” it suddenly becomes an unspeakably evil crime to contest an election. The same Democrats who howled that the 2016 election of Donald Trump was totally illegitimate now speak of “election denialism” as if it were almost worse than murder. Whether it’s stuffing ballot boxes, providing alternate electors on questionable grounds, or threatening and persecuting political opponents, the Democrat election playbook is at heart the same hypocritical but aggressively successful playbook it has always been. Because when it comes to lies, political persecution, and election fraud, the Democrat Party is the same yesterday, today.
