Reacting to Twitter handle @PalmerLuckey’s twitter posts, which criticized YouTube (Owned by Google) for taking down posts criticizing the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Senator Ted Cruz went off with a series of Tweets ultimately saying that “Big Tech is Drunk with power.”

YouTube has deleted every comment I ever made about the Wumao, an internet propaganda division of the Chinese Communist Party. Who at Google decided to censor American comments on American videos hosted in America by an American platform already banned in China?”  — Ted Cruz, Twitter

Palmer Luckey’s profile description on Twitter, says that he is a “technology enthusiast, writer, and Modder. Founder of ModRetro, @Oculus VR, and @AndurilTech. Keeping American superheroes safe with autonomous systems.”

The tweet made by the user brought a direct response by Senator Cruz.

This is very disturbing. Why is GOOGLE/YouTube censoring Americans on behalf of the CCP? This is WRONG and Big Tech is drunk with power. The Sherman Act prohibits abusing monopoly power. DOJ needs to stop this NOW.”

This is not the only time that YouTube/Google has been caught censoring opponents of China and negative comments on its platform, especially in the age of the Coronavirus. Dr. Knut Wittowksi, a former head of biostatistics epidemiology and research, has been critical of the United States’ and Anthony Fauci’s approach to COVID-19, and has promoted a medical term known as “herd immunity,” on his YouTube pages and videos.

“With all respiratory diseases, the only thing that stops the disease is herd immunity. About 80 percent of the people need to have had contact with the virus, and the majority of them, won’t even have recognized that they were infected,” Dr. Wittowksi said in one of his videos which has been subsequently deleted by YouTube.

One-third of all of the COVID-19 deaths in the United States have been in nursing homes (either staff or residents), and the problem has been exacerbated in New York by Governor Cuomo ordering all nursing homes in the state to accept patients or staff that have been infected by the virus.

“Cuomo can’t undo his mistake of forcing nursing homes to take in infected people when the horse is out of the barn,” Dr. Wittowski said.

In response, YouTube said that “the video went against community standard guidelines,” and against “public health policies.”

Senator Cruz is correct in saying that “Big Tech is Drunk with power,” given all of the clout they have accumulated over the years, along with their attempts to influence the outcomes of future elections by silencing one group and favoring one political party over another.
