Fox News personality and token liberal Geraldo Rivera is leaving the network’s #1 show “The Five” following a series of on-air arguments with the show’s right-leaning hosts. The announcement comes as Fox News recently fired its highest-rated host, Tucker Carlson, allegedly stemming from the Dominion voting machine lawsuit over the 2020 Presidential election.

Geraldo announced the news on Wednesday morning via his Twitter account, saying, “It’s official, I’m off the Five. My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday June 29 and June 30. It has been a great run, and I appreciate the opportunity, being the odd man out, isn’t always easy.”

The tension began building after the firing of Tucker Carlson in April when Geraldo began tweeting a series of tweets directed at Tucker Carlson. “I don’t wish ill on anybody, but there is no doubt, as I said at the time, Tucker Carlson’s perverse January 6 conspiracy theory was b*****t.”

Co-host Greg Gutfeld was a constant combatant with Geraldo, getting into numerous spats and heated debates on-air, along with Gutfeld mocking Geraldo online.

Geraldo has been a consistent critic of former host Carlson’s view on January 6, and has said that his claims of January 6, were “inflammatory, and outrageous.”

Tucker had several segments questioning the true account of the event at the Capitol on January 6, and has questioned the role of the FBI in potentially inciting the incident.

Co-host Greg Gutfeld responded to the tweet saying, “You’re a class act Geraldo. A real man of the people.” According to sources who spoke to the Daily Beast, Gutfeld possibly played a role in the ousting of Geraldo, after he and Rivera had numerous contentious heated arguments live on-air.

In one such incident, Geraldo pointed a finger at Gutfield, calling him a “punk,” after the two had a heated argument about abortion in 2021.

Though his future appearances on “The Five” have been canceled, Geraldo said that he still remains a “correspondent at large” for the network.

The remaining set of hosts will stay the same for now despite the network’s most recent shake-up.
