MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell announced on Monday his company would shift 75% of his workforce to make N95 masks for American healthcare professionals. 90% of My Pillow’s sewing employees will be working to make 50,000 masks per day. Lindell said it was difficult to supply the elastics needed to build masks, so his company found a way to make 100% cotton masks. The CEO has been working with the Trump administration’s coalition to develop the mask design.
Lindell was invited by President Trump to a Monday coronavirus briefing at the White House. He reiterated his company’s goal to make 50,000 masks per day and temporarily shift 75% of his business to medical supply. Going off script, Lindell encouraged the nation to seek God in a time of crisis. “I encourage you to use this time at home to get back to the Word, read our Bibles and spend time with our families. With our great president, vice president and this administration and all the great people in this country praying daily, we will get through this and get back to a place that’s stronger and safer than ever.”
Lindell was lambasted for invoking the name of God in a public address. Leftists on Twitter and in the beltway claimed this was a clear “violation” of “separation of Church and State.” They mocked his company’s efforts to create masks for medical professionals, thinking it was silly a CEO of a pillow company could lead such an effort.
My response to the Left and the media: you are all disgusting. This is a time where an all-hands-on-deck approach is crucial to the survival of our republic. If a CEO is willing to convert 75% of his business to make medical equipment to save lives, don’t mock him. Lidell’s encouragement to Americans to read the Bible and pray during this crisis is not only acceptable but necessary. Since our founding, the United States has always sought the mercy and favor of God. If our nation has any hope of surviving the next two weeks, two years, or two centuries, we must be a people of action, driven by faith and guided by the hand of Providence.
