With just one month until the midterms, Arizona Republican Senate candidate Blake Masters is coming close to breaking even with Democrat incumbent Mark Kelly in the polls.
In a new CBS News/YouGov poll, Masters is within only 3 points of Kelly. This data shows the race is much closer than the last three polls taken in September, showing a directional shift in the state.
CBS News also published the “cross tabs” of the poll, giving more information behind the voter’s thought process.
The additional information shows Kelly having a “likability” advantage, while Masters support comes from people who (a) oppose Kelly as a Democrat and (b) show strong inter-party support.
Masters and Kelly will face off in a debate today, with Masters’ Press Twitter account looking forward to the event.
Blake Masters was endorsed by Donald J. Trump back in June 2022, and his campaign is backed by Masters’ former mentor and billionaire, Peter Thiel. He is running on a strong right-wing platform of securing the border, stopping inflation, empowering parents, expanding free speech, fighting big tech, and “stopping wokeness.”
Masters has even been willing to call for an investigation into the actions of Dr. Fauci. Considered one of the most right-wing candidates in the race, he has garnered much flack from the media for his support of traditional values.
