Tuesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced a petition with Florida’s Supreme Court to impanel a grand jury to investigate “any and all wrongdoing in Florida” with respect to COVID-19 vaccines.
“In Florida, it is against the law to mislead and misrepresent the efficacy of a drug. So, today, I’m announcing a petition to the Supreme Court of Florida to impanel a statewide grand jury to investigate any wrongdoing with respect to the COVID-19 vaccines,” DeSantis said.

In the official report from DeSantis’ office, Pfizer and Moderna are mentioned as two of the companies the investigation aims to target.
The Governor’s remarks came at a “COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine Accountability Roundtable,” which featured Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo, Dr. Jay Bhattacharya (recently unbanned from Twitter), Dr. Martin Kulldorff, as well as others.
During the roundtable, DeSantis also announced the formation of a Public Health Integrity Committee.
Saying he fully expects the petition to be approved by the state’s court, DeSantis also argued that this investigation would not come without precedent, nodding at actions taken by states as a result of the opioid crisis.
