Last night, President Biden delivered what many are calling the “darkest speech of his presidency.”
Biden stood at a podium with eerie lighting, a blood red background, and two silhouetted Marines standing at attention. The President used these optics to call his political opponents enemies of democracy.
“Trump & the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that represents the very foundations of our Republic”
“MAGA Republicans do not respect the constitution. They do not believe in the rule of law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election. And they are working right now, as I speak, in state after state, to give power to decide elections in America, to partisans and cronies. Empowering election deniers to undermine democracy itself. MAGA…is determined to take this country backwards. Backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love. They promote authoritarian leaders and they fan the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country.”

To ensure clarity, President Biden tweeted that Trump and those who vote for him are a “threat to the very soul of this country.”

Daily Wire Editor Emeritus and podcast host Ben Shapiro thought the speech was “demagogic, outrageous and divisive…”
Representative Marjorie Taylor Green said Biden “just declared all of us enemies of the state…”
Filmmaker Mike Cernovich even labeled the visual aesthetic of the speech as nazi-esque.
Former President Donald Trump gave a response on Truth Social, saying that Biden “must be insane, or suffering from late stage dementia!”
Barstool Sports owner and liberal Dave Portenoy even pushed back on Biden’s speech, saying, “Seriously, who gives a speech warning people about how dangerous Republicans are to Democracy while having a background that looks like the Soviet Union and Hitler had a baby?”
Many liberals embraced both the speech and aesthetic. They were enthusiastic about the style of language used by the President.
The Biden administration has leaned into intense language of the opposition in recent weeks.
Biden has personally called “MAGA Republicans” a “threat to democracy” multiple times, along with representatives of his administration. Biden flexed his military power over the citizens of America when he said “if you want to fight against the country, you need an F-15…you need something a little more than a gun”. DNC advisor Kurt Bardella called Republicans a “domestic terrorist cell operating in America”.

It’s so discouraging to realize the fact that our President is out of touch with reality because he is dealing with dementia. The concerning issue is that our Vice President is totally incompetent and do I need to say more about our House speaker. Therefore, leave our President in office and vote to make sure the incompetents do not remain in office. That’s the way our Republic was designed to work. Incidentally, I am a registered Democrat…”Blue Dog”
