The Democrats’ long-awaited (or dreaded) “Build Back Better” bill passed the House along party lines Friday after a long fight against the bill from Republicans. House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) spoke on the House floor for eight hours yesterday attempting to postpone the vote, but the Democrats got their chance Friday.
The only Democrat to vote nay was Jared Golden from Maine, who is in a tight race for re-election in Maine’s 2nd district. The bill, marketed by liberals, the Biden administration, and Jen Psaki as a magical “zero-cost” treat for the taxpayer, is nothing of the sort.
In fact, the legislation will cost taxpayers $357,000,000,000 – yes, $357 BILLION – while adding to the national debt. Here’s an excellent video detailing many of the bill’s wasteful components:
