The CEO of Tesla and majority owner of Twitter company stock took to the bird app Tuesday night to lambast the TV and movie subscription service, Netflix. Musk responded to a tweet by Slashdot, a tech news website, stating Netflix shares had fallen 20% after they reported net lost subscribers for the first time in a decade.
Musk, who follows the Slashdot twitter account, offered a reason as to why Netflix users may be unsubscribing.
Another Twitter user upped the stakes of the Netflix news by responding to Elon, “Woke mind virus is the biggest threat to civilization”. Musk responded back, “Yes”.
What is the ‘woke mind virus’?
‘Woke mind virus’ is when Left-wing social justice ideals on race, culture, class and sex are fully internalized and projected on every human interaction and institution. When a person is infected with the woke mind virus, it affects the way they work, the way they socialize and how they think about the world. They view everything through the lens of the Marxist “oppressor vs. oppressed” framework.
‘Wokeness’ can also be described as an obsession with a left-wing view of social justice. It is generally associated with movements like Black Lives Matter, the ‘trans kids’ movement, etc.
The effects of the woke mind virus can be seen in corporations, universities and educational institutions.
- The University of Minnesota announced a 12-step “Recovery from White Conditioning” lecture by a therapist to “deconstruct” and “decentralize” whiteness.
- Kindergarten students in a D.C. school were forced to chant “Black lives matter” while marching with BLM signs.
- Disney executives admitted they want to expose children to more LGBTQIA+ characters.
- Students at the University of North Texas berated a father for wanting to prevent his son from brutal genital mutilation under the guise of “trans kids” rights.
Even a Christian institution like Baylor University is not exempt from this virus. BU hosted a chapel speaker who prayed to “mother mystery” (rather to Jesus or God) to remove a “stumbling block on the way to justice”.
Netflix entertainment has skewed Left
Netflix is considered to be one of the most progressive, left-wing tech companies in America.
Netflix employees donate to Democrats at the highest rate of any tech company. In 2016, 98% of political donations went to Democrats, and only 2% to Republicans. In the midterm elections of 2018, a whopping 99% of donations went to Democrats.
Netflix pledged to move $100 million to black-owned banks and financial institutions to “address systemic racism”. This move was a result of Netflix HR director Aaron Mitchell having a conversation with CFO Spencer Neuman after reading the book on “systemic racism” called, “The Color of Money”.
In 2020, the streaming service published what critics said was a movie that sexualized young children. ‘Cuties’ was a French film written and directed by Maïmouna Doucouré. It purports to be about a Muslim girl who lives in a poor neighborhood in France but features inappropriate sexual scenes of young children, according to critics. A petition gathered over 600,00 signatures promising to unsubscribe from Netflix if the film was not removed from the platform. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz criticized the film, saying, “The film routinely fetishizes and sexualizes these pre-adolescent girls as they perform dances simulating sexual conduct in revealing clothing, including at least one scene with partial child nudity.”
