Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Ivan Provorov refused to take part in the team’s “Pride Night” event Tuesday during warmups of an NHL game, and the media backlash has been enormous.
The event was apparently so harrowing for left-wing journalists that they couldn’t keep their emotions in check after the event, sounding off on Provorov with emotionally-charged calls for fines and punishments.
Watch anchor Sid Seixeiro from the Canadian program “Breakfast Television” excoriate the hockey player for staying true to his faith in a very aggressive and angsty tone:
“I just think the NHL has to do something. This is not good enough … THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!” Seixeiro said in the clip with nearly 7 million views, clearly agitated that others hold different values than his own.
Provorov didn’t participate in pregame warmups when the team wore Pride-themed jerseys and used sticks wrapped in rainbow Pride tape. He cited his Russian Orthodox religion as the reason why he didn’t participate. He eventually played in the game against the Anaheim Ducks.
“I respect everybody and I respect everybody’s choices,” he told reporters after the game. “My choice is to stay true to myself and my religion. That’s all I’m going to say.”
Flyers Coach John Tortorella defended Provorov, saying he believed the situation was “unfair” for the Russian Orthodox defenceman.
“I just think it’s unfair. I know you are probably going to talk to Provy,” Tortorella said.
“I’m not going to spend a lot of time on it. I think it was a great night, and I’m not going to get too deep into the conversation.”

Well, obviously the reporter is a queer.
I thought our nation was still viewed as a free nation and that anyone can support whatever they choose to support. If you’re on a team, why should you be FORCED to agree with what the team has said should be supported? Humans are individuals and their viewpoints and beliefs need to be respected. This newscaster has no skin in the game, so he needs to bow out of this silly controversy.
Does ANYBODY remember the history of the American Revolution? Why it was fought? What WE GAINED FROM IT? These radical Leftist think they are the ONLY ones who have a RIGHT to the privileges that the Constitution insures us. READ IT, I don’t see any mentioning of anything about the Democraps and Leftist having sole ownership of FREEDOM . I believe we would still be under British rule if they were in control in those early years of this country.
