Following an investigation by Judicial Watch and Fox News Digital, it has been revealed that West Point is teaching incoming cadets lessons based on the Critical Race Theory curriculum. Critical Race Theory, or CRT as it has become known, has become a hot-button topic at local school board meetings and in news cycles.
The revelations come after conservative legal watchdog Judicial Watch launched an investigation into West Point, garnering access to over 600 documents. “Our military is under attack, from within,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
One document within the teaching outline shows the following “lesson:”
1) Racism is ordinary, 2) Race is Socially constructed, and 3) White Americans have primarily benefited from civil rights legislation.
“These documents show racist, Anti-American CRT propaganda is being used to radicalize our rising generation of Army leadership at West Point,” Fitton continued.
CRT became popular last year in the 2021 Virginia gubernatorial race where Republicans were able to localize election issues down to local school boards, which vaulted Glenn Youngkin to a surprising victory over Terry McAullife.
Another document showed a “dialogue” that stated the following:
1) Heterosexuality is the basis for sexual formation, 2) Queer Theory is multidisciplinary, and 3) Gay and Lesbian issues get combined into one category when they are not the same.
The investigation was cleared by Freedom of Information Act requests made by Judicial Watch.
Another investigation into the Montgomery County School District in Maryland found student materials saying that “Make America Great Again” was an “example of covert white supremacy.”
